Those of using Soundblaster type sound cards or turtle beach soundcards, I am curious. Do most of you run the signal out of the computer directly to your power amp / speakers, or do you run the signal out of the computer back into your mixer then to the speaker / power amp....

I go from the PC to a switch box, then to a) Home stereo, and b) self-powered monitors. No out to the mixer. I use a small Behringer 6-channel mixer just for ins (or occasionally the 16 channel Mackie if I need it). I do the mixing in the computer.

Out of the souncard into my 14-channel Behringer mixer, then to the monitors.

I have several PC systems, but the one closest to your description has a SBLive + a TV tuner card going to seperate stereo ins on a Behringer 8 channel mixer, which has its monitor out going to small powered speakers. The mixer has inputs from a stereo reciever with CD, cassette, VCR, etc.

I used to run the PC into the receiver as Tape 2, but I wanted to be able to listen to the stereo while I was also killing alien scum on the PC. Plus the mixer is useful when recording too-quiet cassettes to PC.
