Hi.. I'm Becca.
I'm seventeen and I'm a singer/song writer, and I love to engineer recordings. But I can't play any instruments very well, and I think it would be better if I record with real instruments. So all these songs are stuck in my head... I've done a few cover songs with karaokes and I added a few vocal effects. I think they're really bad... I don't have much for a studio, but what I do have is computer based, so that's how I did my mixes. I'm also blind and I use a screen reading program with speech. So some of the software I use and how I use it depends on accessibility with the program.
I'm basically just looking for some good people to help me out with things.. Maybe work on a project or something. I have a lot yet to learn.
I've got a couple songs on the web, and if anyone wants to hear what I've got so far I'll post them. They could use a lot of improvement... Haha.
Thanks.

Mindstorm, welcome to the Board. I suggest you do some research on MIDI. With MIDI you can write music for multiple instruments and use a synth or sampler to play the music you have written. It will also teach you a lot about music and arrangements--and it is a blast. Also, with a little MIDI keyboard and a little practice you will be able to record MIDI as you play the part. I mention this because MIDI is a great way for a songwriter to get his/her stuff recorded, and with some effort and experience you can become quite good and completely self-contained. Of course, you can always collaborate with others and eventually replace your MIDI tracks with real instruments.

MIDI is a wonderfull thing for us lonely songwriters.

Thanks for the reply! I feel loved now...
Hmm.. That's a good idea. I don't necessarily have to know how to play piano though do I? I suck at piano.. One of my old music teachers in middle school used midi for our piano arrangements. I always wondered how the keyboard played itself! lol
I'm working on a cover song right now and it needs a lot of special effects and I'm stuck on it.. I need a Sound Forge or Adobe Audition preset for one of those soft delay type things, and a way to put doubles or something on the chorus of the song. It's gonna be so cool..hopefully.
I downloaded some but they were all full of feedback..Ouch! I have to reinstall Audition because I broke the Audition.ini file in the process. Hehe.
*goes to find midi stuff*
