Who else uses a marshall jcm 2000 100 watt?

This is my second half stack ive ever owned. Traded in my fender 100 stage stack for this and i love it. Everyday i play it i find out new tones i can get with simple knob moving. If you have played or owned this amp post your experinces with this stack.

Also im still trying to find the best way to mic my amp. I used sm57 on it but now i used an akg dd70. Any tips or settings you use let me know.

I do, its great. I like it with wide open EQ settings the best. I don't use the third channel much, as I don;t play lead and its a little too much gain for me. But Its a great amp that can do an awful lot of things.

I haven't played it near as much since I got my Vox AD120 a while ago, though. The Vox is just easier to take where I need to go, and even if theres stage crew, I gotta get stuff from place to place myself.

yeah ive lugged this amp a few places and let me tell you its no easy task but lucky i drive a pickup truck. i mainly keep it down here in my basement studio so its my dream cometrue untill i need to move the damn thing

the JCM2000 is definitely a heavy bugger, but well worth it. I hardly ever use the second gain channel, or the crunch channel. I got my sound nailed down to what gives me the warm fuzzy, and the leave the knobs be. The funny thing is, I use a fender cabinet from the Roc Pro 1000 I bought a few years back, so I've got a gibson les paul going through a marshall head and out through a fender cab, woo hoo. Now if only I could get endorsement contracts from all three?
