Is this terrible?

Hello, this is a recording I just did, I tracked it at school using Pro Tools HD, then brought it home and mixed it with Audition. Should I be embarrassed to show the band? Am I on the right track? Tear me apart... Thanks.

Yes that song is fucking terrible.

I'm listening on cans right now, but the mix sounds pretty good. Actually, the music sounds pretty decent. The vocal style is ass, but it sounds like it's recorded pretty good.

Yeah I'm definately not feeling that.

The music sounds fine but the vocals are garbage. Sounds like it was recorded well though.

I'm too old for this... I'm sorry, it's just not my cup of tea. But it did sound like maybe it was a bit harsh. Maybe tame some of the highs.

I won't comment on the vocals since someone already did.

this is a great recording and mix! great vocal performance too, this guy knows what he's doing.

The non demon voice is a bit thin & nasal.
The bass is a little buried in the guitars - it might need some more definition - it does become clearer later.
Not a bad recording job at all.
The harmonised parts work well but may need a little more vol.
Busy drums mate!

What they all said above!

Think the kick could be pulled back a bit (or maybe drop a wee bit of lo end off or add a touch definition?) and the snare could be nicer and clean vocal need to be de-nasaled.. Add some lo mids?

But for sure not a mix to be ashamed of! And cool song!
Rawk On! \m/

Uh, am I the only one that feels the drum track was meant for another song? I mean, the song sounds fine, but it just seems the drums aren't in time or right with the rest of the tune.

I think this is recorded pretty well. I think the bass needs to be a little more defined and the lead is buried a little. I'm not an expert on getting better drum sounds (since i use loops:)) but i think it could be fatter for a lack of a better term. It seems a little weak although your drummer played well.
