Has anyone here ever done an A/B test of these pedals[ you know them eh, they are the TS9, FL9 and the CS9 or in plain language, the Tubescreamer, the Flanger and Chorus pedal]against the originals from the early 80s.

Just would like to know how good they are compared to the older ones.

I have had a change to do an A/B test with an old FL9 and an even older FL 301 and both of them sounded different, but none of them was really bad.

Any info will do at this time.

Cheers,

Eddie

I don't know about those pedals but you got me thinking about my old Ibanez analog delay pedal. It's the same style from the 80's. It's pink and has like three knobs on it. Back in my old 4 track days that was my delay for everything from guitars to vocals. I still have it. It takes two 9v batteries so I haven't fired it up lately.

Pink? LOL I have the FL-9 Flanger that is an ugahly yellow color and a SD-9 Sonic Distortion that is lime green. Those colors were so kewl in the 80's

I would tend to think that the newer one's would not have the same quality parts as the older ones but I can't say for sure.

May get a change to do an A/B test with a reissue CS9 and an older one, will post my results later on, really curious to see how the new one will stand up against the old on.

Cheers,

Eddie
