I practice on the practice pad half an hour a day...and then try to get on the kit for at least half an hour. But, alot of days, like today, I only have time for my 30 minutes pratice pad work. But I never miss those.

I practiced incorporating a steve gadd style lick for about 35 minutes. My wife came down and told me to find a new rhythm or get off...

i don't think she appreciates my skillz, yo!

I played today while listening to judge mathis and all the other court shows on headphones. Ive got tv on my computer in my studio so its easy to drum for hours.

Nooooooo I didn'tttttt and its killing me. I got addicted to the newest James Bond ps2 game, 'From Russia with Love'. Its awesome and I can't put down the controller!

Yup, I practice at LEAST 6 days a week, usually 7. Anything less and I cannot keep my chops in shape.

pfft. the temperature has just sored here in Britain. play any instrument other than a guitar for more than about ten minutes and you're sweating and feel poorly.

ah well. i'm off on tour next week to Holland. might be a bit cooler there.

Hiya...
Newly arrived here. So this is where all the noise is coming from! Wish I could practise right now... I certainly could use the work... AND the exercise. I'm in the throes of the "studio... formerly known as garage", project. I'm with you... I should be finding the time to practice. Haven't had a band rehearsal in a month either, due to the guitarist's sudden need to vacation with his family. Selfish bastard!! ;)
I'm probably like a lot of you. I dreamed for years (many, long, long, long years) about building, and operating, my own studio. Believe it or not... dreams do, sometimes, come true. I'm up to my neck in the "build your own studio" portion of the dream.
Anywho. I'm pleased to meet you.

G'day Oaklanddanny,....All the way from Aussie Land!! :)

i've tried to commit to a practice routine many times. it always ends up the same. it gets boring, i don't get any instant gratification, and i say to hell with it. i just can't imagine the big guys ever sitting in front of a metronome and working on picking technique and scale sequences. i know i could definately use some speed in my picking hand but practice is such a drag.

Believe it or not, they do. Any really good performers with good technique and command over their instrument do, anyways.

No one is born with technique. Some seem able to develop it more readily, but we all work for it.

Yeah, discipline is a bitch, but once you start seeing the rewards, it becomes a lot more tolerable. And you start depending on it to develop your baseline.

Well that was two years ago, hottest day ever recorded yesterday, I'm practicing. I've got a desk fan pointed at my drumkit, and a battery-powered clip fan on one of my stands, ooooooh yeah!

Seems like everyday I'm bangin' on something :D . Sometimes it could be confused with practice...

No really, I go through waves where I'll practice everyday for hours. Sometimes I go weeks without, then I practice twice as much. It's a vicious cycle. :o
