Someone tell me what mic pre is fuckin' great overall in price, performance, etc. I will be using it soley for vocals. I want that warm sound, ya feel me'?

They are all the best, depending on who you talk to.

Try a Telefunken, or a Drawmer 1960 if toobs interest you.

I am partial to the Oram MWS with the EQ Magic.

valuewise, for the money I think the MP1nv by great river is where inexpensive and great meet. The price point is 950.00.

Funny you mention that - I never hear anyone talk about that unit but it's on my budget list for next year....

Using Lynn Fuston's Mic Pre comparison, that's the one pre I consistently picked out in blind tests of the comparison runs...

It's a very sweet sounding pre!
