ok, i got this mic a month ago and just started setting up my recording pooter. well, i plugged it into my behringer mixer and no go. it's got 4 switches on it (2 up and down settings) and i tried all those. i tried 3 different mic cables. i went straight into my live mixer/amp i use for gigs and no go. what am i doing wrong? does it need a special pre-amp? i didn't get a book with it .

it is new and i got it at GC. so is it a stinker? HELPPPP!JW

ps: when i plug the mic cable into my mixer the mixer light flickers once so that tells me it's shaking hands....

err, with more than 200posts I think you should know about Phantom power by now...... well, is it ON?? ;)

I didn't know Behringer mixers have this feature. ;)

i know, i asked for it. i've always gone to a studio and let them get the headaches. now i got one:mad:

so it works off phanthom power huh? imagine my surprise. i looked on the net and still can't find the freekin manual. thx

MK319 is a nice condensor mic, a friend of mine has one.

Condensor mic will need to be phantom powered.

Your Behringer mixer has phantom power and a LED to indicate that it is on.

Just be sure to on the Phantom Power only AFTER you inserted the mic. and do not plug in or remove mic from the mixer while the phantom power is on.

ok, thanks leeking----it's new(this mic and phantom power) to me so i need all the help i can get.

i got it going, sweet sounding mic. now on my recording pooter(win2k) suddenly it won't record. either with the windows recorder or n-track. so i go to audio in control panel and i see the playback is checked but not the record. then when i try it in n-track, it says i need to install the mixer device. hmmmmm, i don't see it. i'm thinking about re-loading win2k. it may be missing a file, any ideas?

What kind of soundcard are you using? Some brands use their own mixer software.

Reinstall the drivers for the audiophile.
ok, guess it wouldn't hurt. like i said it's ok on playback. i mean, if the recorder section was on,then i should basically be able to record in the windows recorder---right? much less anything else.

the asio drivers worked before but they are not available on the latest driver d-load i have. does anybody else use asio?

The audiophile's mixing section isn't recognized by Windows as a mixer. Windows can in no way manage the audiophile device...

I've never had a problem with this when it came to recording applications, and still works for some games, even.

I've not tried n-track, but I've used my audiophile in cubase (asio), Sonar (wdm), and Sound Forge (mme) with no problems. Unless there's a different way n-track wants to access the sound card, but isn't it also asio/wdm application? You might want to try switching between? Or use the "beta multi-channel recording" drivers the m-audio offers on their site? (5.10.00.29x12 (beta)) I had problems using the latest drivers as well, and eventually settled on this, as m-audio also recommends.

thx skla,----yea i will try the beta.s. they also have the 5.10.00.31
out. looks like it could work to. will try when i get home.;)
