Hooking Up Effects To 2488

I Have a tascam 2488 and i can for the life of me figure out how to send my
external effects thru the send-return. i do not see a return on the machine
and the book doesnt tell me how to loop. i have to settle just for a delay
can someone tell me how to send my external effects thru my 2488.

I have a 2488 with 2 external effects looped. But I can't get to the back of it to look right now. I'm pretty sure there are 2 effects sends. Send those out to your effect(s) and bring them back into 2 inputs.

Neither. you send the 2 inputs either 2 your SUB-MIX button (by pressing both at the same time) and then assigning the SUB-MIX button to the STEREO button (by pressing them both at the same time). This way, you're not using any channels up if you need them, but you can't EQ the effect or do anything else you'd be able to do if it was assigned to 2 channels.

OR.......................

You assign the 2 inputs to 2 empty channels (by pressing the INPUT and SELECT buttons at the same time). That way you, can EQ the effects, etc....But you're using up 2 channels.
