home recording problems

i have been trying to record my own music using my toshiba laptop, amicrophone mixer and expensive mic, but every time i record i get this frequency type noise in the background, please help ive had no success for the last 8 months!!!
 
The problem is that your stock soundcard for the laptop isn't made for what you are trying to use it for...


You need something like this:


Audio Interface
 
Rokket is right, the stock sound cards are usually so noisy that I don't even use it for conventional stuff like the internet if I can avoid it. If you get a decent little interface, even an inexpensive usb one, that will probably get you past the problem.
 
I would also invest a little time in reading what other people , are doing to acomplish what u would like to acomplish. the more pro they are, the better the advice should be.
read a few forum posts about recording. it seems there may be lots of advice relating to what u r asking

Still using a built-in soundcard?? Unfortunately, those are made with less than $1 worth of chips for beeps, boops and light gaming (not to mention cheapness for the manufacturer) NOT quality music production.
#1 Rule of Recording: You MUST replace the built-in soundcard.
