high strung guitar and droped tunings?

i have been finding my guitar playing a little dead these months and nothing new is being learned so i am looking at using weird tunings for a while just to stay fresh and also to get the other nice tones and textures of an acoustic guitar.
what kind of tunings should i try?

i have used
DADGAD
open G
open D
high strung (thats done with the octave strings of a 12 string guitar)
and i have a baritone guitar (tuned down to B)




what do any of you guys try? thanks

When I get into a dry spell I either learn a cover song to give myself a break or I just push through it by playing a couple hours every day untill I get "the feeling" back. As far as tunings go, I don't strat too far from "C", so I can't really suggest any alternatives from experience.

I say just play the damn thing. Maybe get a nylon string acoustic if you want a different sound.

I'm with Zed.

Open C = C G C G C E

I learned Bron'Yaur (Led Zeppelin) with a similar tuning (C A C G C E)

...and if you get REALLY bored, you can try tackling some Michael Hedges.

Again, Zed offers a very good solution. Something as simple as changing from a big fat sounding Les Paul to a thin shimmering Telecaster can change your entire view of your playing and help broaden your interests.

thanks for the tuning ideas maybe i wil try them tonight and see what happens so far i have a baritone guitar and parlor setup high string style while i have my other guitars set for normal tuning i also have a slide box and maybe i can just get my strat going next.... thanks y'all
