The type of music im doing is electronic based ambient stuff, its also instrumental so i wont be recording vocals.
im pretty sure i can set this stuff up to work, but ive been reading up about compressors, limiters, multi effects units, di units ect......do i need any of this stuff?

thanks for your time

You need some monitor speakers. Some condenser microphones. A preamp. There are lots of threads on these topics so check them out before asking any "what monitor/mic/preamp should I buy" questions.

Compression and other effects can be done in Cubase.

2nd on the motion for good monitor speakers...

Mic and preamp if you intend to mic up that acoustic guitar. Otherwise, you could accomplish most of what you want with the gear you have & a bit of practice.
