Seeing the other thread on pots reminded me, I am going to replace the pu's on my strat with '59SH seymour duncan HB's (if they ever get here) and had intended leaving the pots as is - 250k - I have done this before on another strat, I like the sound, it still seems to have the treble ring but also the best of both worlds. Am I missing something or is it just a personal taste thing?

Nope, that's fine. If you like it, great. 500k pots are just normal, but there is not reason not to use 250's.
