Hey im new to this!! HELP

ok i reealy hope somebody knows what this is.. its been killing me!

I have purchased and downloaded 3 diffrent recording programs. a cheap cakewalk, repper and audasity... and i still have the same problem.. i start recording and the volume is great for about 10 seconds and then the volume drops out and the sound goes flat.. then 15 seconds or so later its back and way too loud or just normal volume again.. WHAT IS GOING ON!!
 
Sounds like something for the Newbies forum, but you're giving no information at all to help with the problem. Perhaps a screenshot or information on how you've set up the hardware would help but this sounds like something you could fix by reading the documentation on each of the programs which you can find mostly by searching in Google.
