i don't know the author of this e-book but, i felt it was worth the small investment of $6.00. i own a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad, and since this author was inspired by that book i figured this book could be worth reading.

Hey jugalo that book changed my life man. Glad to see headz is getting into that. I took notes and review them once a year to make sure I'm still on track !!!!

Great Read!

I just got finished reading it, man rich rapper is me all the way.

But i would be lying if i didn't say i used to be poor rapper for real!

Thanks man, that was real insperational

its like the blackalicious song "deception" told in story form.

i am curious though, can anyone in here honestly say that if they met a major label exec they wouldnt try to plug their material because they dont care about a major deal? i would love to say that that's true for me but bottom line, selling out or not, i would love to get a major deal and i dont think that in the bottom of any emcee or producer's heart they couldnt say the same.

But...

Listen to your words now...A "deal" is still a "deal" no matter how you look or re word it. Thats where most artist get hemmed up, no i can honestly say that after being in the game for some time now i would sign a deal. But...Its gotta be on my terms and if that doesn't work its back to the independant route. But what most of ya'll young guys just startin don't realize is that tahts the game anyway, if you don't do numbers then you get whatever you can take, if you puttin up something then they gotta "give" something, thats the bottom line.

Would I sign a Major Deal? Absolutley
Would it be in my favor? Hell No!!!
Would I make more money Independant or with a Major? That all comes down to if your talented enough to sell a "unit" in the first place

P.S.- I always heard the saying and never understood it till now that im a little deep into the game it goes, "there are alot of talented young artist/ old artist, but this is a business. The sad fact is that some "artist" arent "built" for this type of work"!.

Sad but true, some of your fellow rappers may not make it to your status, nor will they accept your status. Thats just the way it is

i think you misunderstood me.

i am still relatively new as an artist with only a couple years under my belt and a deal of any sort is not even close to any part of my mind. i dont think my material is anywhere near a level where i could make money on it. but at the same time if some a&r saw something marketable in me and came up to me i wouldnt not take a deal like this article was saying the "poor rapper" supposedly did. (i dont know if this story is fiction or not but thats beside the point) when i read that it just brought to my mind something that ive often thought of, which is that even the most underground of underground and realest of true emcees, i think any one of them would take a deal any day of the week. i guess what im getting at is that ive heard people say that they dont want a deal and they dont want to be famous and this and that but i just cant see how thats true for anyone.
