i own a br-1200cd.. and its time to record sum drums... but it only has 2 inputs.... i have 8 mono tracks and 2 stereo tracks to use...
im preppared to hire mixers and mics so thats no worries... the worry is how do i approach it???
do i try to get the drummer to play several perfect takes only recording 2 mono tracks at a time? hire a mixer.. put the kick and toms together.. snare and cymbols together.. and make 1 stereo track?? record 2 stereo tracks???
Quality doesnt have to be perfect... but it has to be reasonable.. any advice is much appreciated!

Any body???? any body at all... i cant have dumbfounded this entire place!?!?!?!? please

Truthfully, when you can post in english, I would be glad to help out.

It is hard to take somebody seriously when they butcher the language so drastically!

thank you for that...
ill try again.
I am trying to record drums. On a 12 track recorder (8 mono 2 stereo)
Does anyone have any hints on the best approach for recording.. maybe over-dubbing? or as read above

Amazing what taking a little time will do. Now take a little bit more and use that search button. You will come up will all kinds of dandy tips.

You can only record two tracks at a time on that unit. Not a good thing for recording drums.

You could try sub-mixing your drums with another mixer before the Boss unit, but, you are course are commited to the mix as you record the drums. Not such a good thing, but, that is how we did it in the old days! ;)

If you have a skilled drummer, you could record just the kick and snare drum first, then over-dub cymbals afterwards. This would give you 4 tracks of drums and pretty good overall control over them.

Truthfully, if it was me, I would sell the BR 1200 and buy a 8 in/out soundcard and record into the computer. Not only will you have MUCH more versatility, but it will most likely sound better!

Good luck.

Here's a post we haven't seen 8 ka-jillion times before. I think the Newbie forum should be placed up higher in the forum listing.

I'll agree with Ford Van.
