guitar wiring issue - plz help

i recently finished wiring my explorer type guitar, with les paul style wiring.. and it works great - *except* for the fact that there seems to be some bleedthrough between the two pickups.. ie, in neck position i still hear some bridge and vice versa... the only way to silence it completely is to turn both volumes down...
I have gotten to a point that i think it is a ground problem, but i was wondering if anyone knew where this might be coming from, ie is it too many grounds or not enough? as far as i can tell everything is hooked up properly..?
could it be the pickups piercing the shield of my switch runs?
are there gremlins in there?

any help is appreciated before i tear it apart and completely redo it

oh yeah i also have a multimeter handy if anyone can suggest measuring points to pinpoint the problem.

if im switched to the bridge pup and i turn the vol all the way down i still hear some sound (weak but there), until i turn the neck pup all the way down, then its quiet. and vice versa for the other pup..

If it's wired like my Epi Les Paul, which as far as I know is wired normally (H2H, if it was wired differently, please correct me here), then what I think he's doing is setting the pickup selector to bridge+neck and then completely dropping the volume of one of the pickups all the way down. On both my Les Paul and my ESP LTD EC-1000 (Les Paul clone), this will completely silence the guitar. If you're still hearing sound at this point, then it is either not wired normally or you don't have the right volume pots installed.

nope that doesnt happen... that would be if i wired it like a strat, i have it wired (mostly) properly (pup goes to middle of pot, switch comes out bottom, other end grounded with cap on it from tone pot) ..

like i said its probably a ground prob somewhere

sile2001, you might want to switch yours if you want independant volume control for each pup (blend em in the middle )

thanks everyone for trying to help... i switched it so it was wired exactly like the diagram (how yours is wired silo).. and now there is no problem, except i cant blend the pups in the neck+bridge position... oh well .. too bad... maybe it was never meant to be

silo you should stick with how yours is wired and disregard me.. :)

stew-mac swore it was a ground problem.... i think maybe it always bleeds through and they just dont put it through gain like i do :)
