A nice full acoustic sound needs a good room in order to resonate well. Miking technique is vital as well. It sounds like you have the mic pointed towards the sound hole. As a starting point, you want to have it pointed at the area where the neck is attached to the body. Then you can start rotating the mic towards or away from the sound hole depending on the sound you get. People have also had success with the mic being over the shoulder. There are a bunch of variables between different ways to record an acoustic, including the room, the mic, the guitar, the player, and the combination of all of these. Using what I said as a starting point, experiment with positioning (of the mic, your position in the room, the room you're in, etc.). Good songs, btw!

thanks!
i would have never thought of that!

and yes i was pointing the mic into the sound hole..

how many mics should i use?

should i use the pickups?

the pickups sound good live but i dont know if they sound good if you record them

I use 3 mics, two sdc's in an x/y facing the body, 1 LDC pointing from about 6" away from the nut down the neck towards the body. Then I double the part.

My acoustic doesn't have, nor need a pickup.
