i'm just getting started on the home recording game and i just have a couple of questions...
(i'm sorry if i sound like a complete idiot...i'm really not too hip on technology)

i've been looking at these "mbox"es and i noticed that it only has "two analog ports" my main question is: what exactly does that mean? does that mean that i could only record from up to two mics at a time? i'm looking to record a drum set and i was thinking i would need at least four mics on that. could someone set me straight? am i going to have to upgrade to the next level?
(i'm sure i'm going to have tons of questions as i do more research)

) with a Yamaha MG 12/4 mixer. this is good for me - it lets me have quite a lot of control over monitoring what i've already recorded, as well as using the 6 mic preamps on there. but you might want a standalone preamp, but i can't help you there, i've only ever used the MG12/4.
