good cables i can make for guitar/amp/pedals

After reading about the mic cables and the great suggestions there, I decided to ask some good suggestions for great brands for guitar to amp to pedals and so on cables,

what are some geat brands that I can look into buying to roll my own and save some money on it,

sound quality is of course top priority,

does anyone know a great user review site were i can research for some good cords i can make myself for amp/guitar/pedals???

Im really desprate to replace my shitty radioshack cords but need some recommend brands that i can look into
