I've got an out door gig this weekend and it's supposed to be around 90 deg. and sunny.
The last time I played an outdoor gig it was around 96 deg. out, and I had a heck of a time keeping my guitars in tune due to the heat/expansion factor and the limited fine tuning available with the Floyd Rose trem. (Original's)
The last gig we didn't have much time to set up and start.......not even a sound check
, so it was pretty much unload and start playing.
This time we will begin setting up around noon or so, but don't actually play until 2:30.
I'm not real fond of letting my Custom made Jackson Soloist and my Kramer sit out side baking in the sun for a couple of hours, but I guess everything will be "up to temp." durring that time.....but I'll still have un do the locking nut and tune up which I hate doing on the fly!!
Any suggestions on how to keep this from becoming an big frustration durring the set(s)?
I will probably take a non trem axe along as well, just in case things get really goofy, but I'd prefer to play my Kramer and keep the Jackson as a backup( yes you read that right...Kramer first!---> And it's a plywood bodied one as well!
)
Thanks,
Rick
