First Mix of Song

Hey-

Tell me what you think about this song. Record with Omni Studio into Cool Edit Pro. Little too much bass I already know about. Thanks.



Also, tell me what you think about this mix of a single entitled 'Passing Thing'. This was done in a studio by a friend of the band I am in.

Hey there. I liked listening to this tune. A nice mellow tune. Mix sounds good on my system. (a little bassy). Not bad.

I did notice some scratching or popping noises in the beginning of the tune. Is it intentional? Also I noticed the vocals were flat more than once. I would re-do vocals if it was me.

I like the arrangement. I think the synth tone that came in during the second verse (I think) were a little loud, and overtook the vocal. Nice dramatic ending there. The mix was really good for this song. The vocal was anything but dry, but it really fit. I didn't hear any glaring vocal problems, but I do agree that it is a little bassy.

Listening to "gone.mp3" and its a real good song. Good playing. Definate musical tallent here. But you asked about the mix. Ok the voice had a next room type of reverb. It needs to be pulled forward and made more intimate like the delivery. The mix is a little sparse too. At the begining where the bass and drums comes seems to drop down. But soon after it picks up nicely again. Needs more clarity and sheen. Sounds pre-mastered. That might help. Nice song dude.
