Is the faSoft compressor worth buying or is there another (cheaper or even free) compressor that does its job quite well?

Do a quick search for "Blueline Plugins" ... they're "free" and will get you rolling. I think the blueline compressor works fine.

If you can't find them anywhere let me know.

Hey, thank you very much, slackmaster2k!

(hell, I could knock myself dead for buying the fa-soft equalizer!! :-) 18 bucks!! I'm a poooooor student!)

Hey Six,

here is an interesting link; http://sinus.jumpfun.com

It is a free VST comp/limiter and there is also a free vst reverb. Another cool free reverb is FREEVERB at http://dreampoint.co.uk

The FAsoft compressor is not bad at all. There are two of them. The one without the graphic window on it is the better of the two I think, worth the investment. It works as good as any of the high dollar comps for channel compression. Great on drums and vocals. The Comp/Limiter from the link above at Sinus would make a great limiter for the master channel to increase the volume of the entire mix and then brick wall limit!

I wouldn't write off the FAsoft comps. They are very good, much better then the para EQ. Besides, the n-track mixer has EQ on it now. Do you have version 2.1.4? If not go to http://n-track.com and download it, you get free upgrades...
