So i have a few recordings that ive exported from repear as wav files. When i try to play these wav files on any other media playing software it will not play. The data on the tracks appears to be there on reaper, and it plays fine on reaper; but will not play on any other program or device. I tried importing files to itunes as well as ipod. Everything appears fine but whenever i try to play on itunes or ipod it simply skips the track as if nothings on it. And i also converted wav files to mp3 to make sure it wasnt itunes or ipod not wanting to play a wav file. Like i said real basic problem data is there on rpp reaper files and play fine, but will not play on any other software or device. Can anyone help me? Or does anyone know why this is happening.

Im latest install of reaper
windows 7 64bit
and presonus firestudio mobile

Any info would be very appreciated

The most likely cause is that you are exporting them in a format not recognized by those other devices.

When you render a file as a WAV in Reaper, render it at 16/44.1

Ok, now i apologize in advance if this sounds dumb

but when you render a file at 16/44.1 in reaper

You do that in the prefences settings correct?

If not how would i do that?

Just so im sure.

When your song is ready to export, go to "File" on the menu bar, then "Render". This will bring up a dialog box in which you can specify how you want your file to be rendered.

If you are rendering as a final product, i.e. something from which you want to make a CD, convert to an MP3, then use 44.1/16.

See the dialog box below:
render.webp

I still have some problems with 16 wav files from my Reaper set up.
A few software players take exception to 44100 or 48000
I just run the rendered file through r8brain if that happens & everything is hunky dory.

Are they taking exception to the sample rate or the bit depth?

Maybe you've rendered at 20 or 24 instead of 16?
