I guess you could call it experimental rock... Here is a song I've been writing and recording the past couple of weeks. It is a strange song. I'm pretty sure I'm going to change some parts around, and possibly add vocals.

I would love constructive comments to help improve the mix. There are a couple of spots in the song where things don't sound quite right.

Thanks for listening.

Edit:
Drums are sequenced from Superior Drummer, so I can't really take credit for the drum sound.

nice recording, though i don't really find it that strange.
maybe the bass could be more "bottomy" and the drums could come down a little?
i'm not the best production critic though as i listen to and enjoy music that sounds like it was recorded in a giant soup can.

Thanks for listening and commenting...

The bass originally had more low end, but since the bass isn't playing a simple bass line (and has some delay) I couldn't get it to sound even and smooth. Could a multiband compressor help this by smashing the lower frequencies of the bass?

Hi, i just listened, it's not a strange song... is like a progressive song. The bass is clipping, is kind of too loud, try to low the 500-1000 Hz frequencies, where is the pick, cause is annoying (at least for me). To make it even you can edit the slow parts to make it even and then use a little compressor. Bass with delay? i didn't notice it (the delay), i'd never done that, but it doesn't mean that's wrong... maybe you could retrack keeping in mind the clip.

Some vocals will definitely improve the song... or a good instrumentation like a cool guitar melody or keyboards... For me, i'll go for vocals :D

Keep rocking!

I really like this song. It's a little trippy and very different. Keep it up.

Really cool song....I would love to hear it w/ vocals. I agree that it could use a little more bottom end on the bass.
