How well does the The ECHO MIA work with Windows ME and SONAR? Not looking for the perfect sound at the moment, just something to get started with. Any complaints or info on this set up? please help.
you can use sonar with any setup..however, if you want to use WDM and take advantage of live input monitoring, you have to have a specific type of driver for your sound card, namely, WDM drivers...M-Audio and Soundblaster WDM will work on windows Me, but it appears that to really get the most out of WDM you need windows 2000 or XP...if the echo card has WDM drivers ,try them out...you got 'system restore' with ME, which i've found to be useful.
YEs I used win2000, MIA and SONAR. Just today I returned the MIA and got a delta because I need a card with more inputs.
Anyway, win2000(and so ME) and SONAR should work fine with MIA. Hoever I only used it for like a week. No problems.
Sonar works great with any decent sound card and pc. Things only get tricky when you want to take advantage of advanced features which require WDM drivers. Of course, you don't need WDM to take advantage of many of the cool editing and mixing features.
