Yes, I've used the search function, but one thing still isn't clear to me:

I'm gonna use samples, libraries (such as VSL Strings) and I'll be recording audio (mostly vocals and some instruments)

When using 2 HDs...what is better:

Drive 1 - System, Apps, samples, libraries
Drive 2 - audio recording

OR

Drive 1 - System, Apps
Drive 2 - samples, libraries, audio recording

any help appreciated.

thanks :)

Even with Serial ATA it certainly does matter. What reallt makes the difference is what format you are recording in (16/44.1 or 24/192 etc...) in conjunction with what samples you are trying to load. Typically, the only thing on your audio drive should be actual audio files (.wavs etc....) Put your samples and libraries on your program drive so you can keep as continual a flow with the larger audio files. If your samples eat too much, get more RAM. With most current samplers especially, more RAM can dramatically increase your performance.
