Either will work. Mic's have varying pickup patterns, and can be used for different things. I have used SDC and LDC for OH's before. E.g. e614/SE1 or c414

I've used both.
Started with a pair of KSM 109's (SDC) and they did alright. Now I'm using SP B1's (LDC) and I've found they capture the kit better. I DO have a treated room so that makes a difference.
Try em both if you have the chance.

I was using a couple of AT3035's (LDC) and switched to MXL 604's about 6 months ago... For my room, the SDC's give me a tighter image

I use Rode NT5's. I like them for overheads and acoustic guitar. They're a bit hyped but I still think they're great for the money. Later on, I plan on snagging some Josephson C42's.
