I Need Input On Recording A Drop C Tuned Bass For Heavy Rock Music
Any Thoughts On Micing A Bass Cab With My Bass Mic???an Akg Mic I
Use For Kick????

You are going to want a mic that is heavy on the mids, a kick mic might not be the way. I use a 421 with a DI for such things.

Ok Ill Try The Di And Mic And Experiment ....anyone Try Routing Them To 2 Separate Tracks???

You are supposed to route them to separate tracks.

I assume the AKG mic you're referring to is the AKG D112? Actually, many people have had a lot of success with using these on bass cabs. Personally, I'm not a big fan of mic'd bass cabinets. If your room doesn't sound really good, it's likely to just add mud more than anything else. Also, to be honest, I've got so many ways to record my bass direct (like about a half dozen different ways) AND I'm so new to home recording that I simply haven't even started to experiment with mixing in an amplifier sound, too, yet. I'm sure great results can be had with that approach.

I Guess Experimenting Will Be The Key And Let My Ears Jugde....@!!

If I really wanted a down 'n' dirty sound - i'd say screw it; get a synth; and start producing pop/rap/hiphop acts. the money will roll right in.
