Hi!

I feel I have a pretty good understanding of my new GNX2 but there is one thing that I still have a question about and I thought I'd ask here before I go to Digitech on this one.

One of the features is that it allows you to assign the "Target System" that the pedal will be sending it's output to. There are several selections such as...

Direct - For direct to console applications
INPT 1 x 12 - Instrument input of a 1x12 combo amp
INPT 2 x 12 - Instrument input of a 2x12 combo amp

There are other choices such as input into the effects return of a amp but the above is what I'm confused about. Why would the instrument level output from the pedal need to be set differently if it was sending it's signal to a 1 x 12 or 2 x 12 combo amp? I understand that a lot of what this pedal does has to do with amp modeling but when I'm not using any amp modeling and only using the effects why would the above make a difference?

Thanks, Easto

I got a response from Digitech and they confirmed that the Target Setup selection area is more of a "tone" control than a instrument/line level attenuator.

I figured that was probably the case. It would tweak the output tone depending on the final delivery. Say you put 30 watts into a single 12" speaker. Then you put the same 30 into two 12" speakers. The second setup won't necessarily be louder, but it will cut through a mix better just because it moves more air.
