different surfaces....louvered wall....other ideas?

I think someone here mentioned making a live wall/dead wall that would incorporate a louvered type of system that would be wood when closed and open to an absorbtive material in the back.
If any one has done this, and could elaborate on it I'd love to hear it (pics would be great) thanks
 
I'm working on it now. I'll post a CAD file in the next few days.
