This is the first mix critique I've posted in homerecording.com.

ANY comments are welcome, as I heavily rely on outside input when mixing/arranging/creating etc...

I find ALL insights to be worthwhile and I always incorporate folk's suggestions when I sit down to work.

So thanks in advance for anything anyone is willing to offer. :)

Deeper as it goes

It's a good mix. My 2 biggest nits would be the snare and the vocal processing... but I can tell you know what you're doing, so chalk that up to personal preference. The vocal level seems just A TOUCH low at points, maybe envelope it at the end of some lines where it drops out.

Cool ethereal piece, and I like the pickup a lot.

Chris, you hit on my biggest gripe with this piece, the snare sound...particularly in the chorus. It was something I grew used to and generally ignored while paying more attention to other sections. Now it's like nails on a chaulkboard to me.

I printed the drum tracks, but since they're samples, I'll eventually go back in and switch it out.

When I get around to doing that, I'm going to tweak the vocal effect...which I think is a hair too wet also, and fix the vocal tails.

Sometimes you have to live with a mix for a bit to see its warts.

Still,I'm pleased you liked it.

Best,

K-
