Confused

Hey kids this is my first post here, AWESOME forum btw.

I need to get a new sound card and hope ya'll can offer some advice. I am in the 100-200 range which I know won't buy anything great but anything should be a step up from this stock hp card.

I use Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 with an outboard mixer, compressor, bbe and monitor mixer. My computer is an amd athlon 2.08ghz 512ram.

I need a card that has at least two inputs. I really don't need any midi inputs. I have been looking at the emu 0404.

look a few posts down...

there's a little 'not a war' going on comparing emu and maudio - also all throughout this section (computer recording) there's people asking and answering the soundcard questions. there's a few options in your price range - a good thing to do is go to a site like zzounds and look for soundcards, sort by price, and start comparing the ones in your price range. maybe then come here and ask for feedback on the one or two that look like they fit you best. from what I hear the 0404 is a good card, but it never hurts to explore the options before purchasing
