Condenser Mic Signal on Wrong Input (?)

I work on Pro Tools 9 with an M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface. I recently bought a condenser mic along with a new XLR cable to connect it to the interface. When I plug it in and speak into it, the green light shows to indicate that it is correctly receiving the input.

However, I can only hear the audio output (very quietly) when the Mix knob is set all the way the left at the IN position, which sends it straight to my speakers instead of through my track on Pro Tools. I need the signal to be sent though the program while the dial is set all the way to the right, at the PB, which is only way I can hear the output from the program itself.

TL;DR: I only get the raw signal from my condenser mic and can't get it to run through Pro Tools.

Any ideas are welcome. I'm too confused.

In Protools, have you selected your audio interface under Setup>Playback Engine,
and have you selected the correct input number on your audio track?

Also, is the track record armed? Actually hit record then play in the transport too, just incase input monitoring is off in PT.

The Mix knob should only affect what you are listening to (via speakers or headphones). It should not affect the level of what is going into PT.

The gain knob controls the level that PT sees. Make sure this is up. For testing purposes only, see if, by speaking into the mike and adjusting the gain, you can get the red clip light to show.

Check that phantom power is switched on, and that you don't have the line level button along side the mike input pressed in.

100%.
If you can hear yourself with the mix knob set left, PT should be getting a signal.
Your issue seems to be with the PT settings.

I no longer have a Fast Track Pro but have you got the interface's control panel up and have you selected the correct inputs in that?

Note also that if you have all the ins and outs connected you can only run at 16 bits.

Dave.
