Well I've been a big fan of Carvin Amps for about 12 years now, since I purchased my Quad X preamp and tube power amp in 1994. I've since added another Quad X preamp and a Belair to my collection (And sold my Boogie Quad preamp and Dual Recto head.)........
As many of you may or may not know, Steve Via has developed along with Carvin his/their Legacy amp. Now even though I think Via is a great player, I'm not really into his sound or style. I've heard plenty of recording of the Legacy amp over the past few years, most of which were guys trying to sound like Via.......and doing a good job of it as well!
But as I stated before I wasn't impressed with the sound/tone of the amp.....Until.........
This guy posted a sound clip on the Carvin BB, and it just blew me away.....to the point where I think I'm going to get one of these just to get that sound! Here's a link to the thread, and sound clip. In the thread the guy posted everything he used and did durring the recording process.....which was not much really. Here you go, and I'm very interested in everyones comments on this.
