The trouble with great bass players is they just get on with it and play. I love listening to interviews with Leland Sklar. If you watch him on stage, he often closes his eyes and just plays. Solid and with a purpose. Far too many bass players think they're the lead guitarist and try to be the focus point. However, this attitude meant the guitarist always got the girls, hmmmm maybe there is something in it!
