that if my EMG humbucker has 4 color coded wires coming out of it, and my Dimarzio has four same color coded wires coming from it, that I can just interchange them by matching the colors to the same soldering spots?
I hope that makes sense but I think you know what I mean!

Most likely. I haven't actually switched out those particular pickups so I don't want to guarantee that would be correct. I would consult someone with more experience. Typically, however, similar colored wires indicate the same wiring pattern.

Wow. I realized that didn't help at all.

What colors are they? Red and Black? Then yes.

Red, black, green and yellow? Then maybe.

the emgs are red, black, white and dark green, the dimarzios are red, black, white and light green.
they both have a ground or would that be shielding? The one (shielding or ground) on the emg in the guitar is not soldered to anything. All four wires from the emg go to the splitter switch.

I found the wiring diagrams for the dimarzios but not the emgs yet

No, different manufactures use different color codes for their output wires. I have a chart of all that crap, but it's down at the shop right now.

Is it an EMG active pickup? Then it is completely different, and you can't wire them even kind of the same. You know that, right? And you can't mix active's and passives without some kind of preamp for the passives.

they are all passive emgs.

Well, that makes a difference, but I still would not count on the colors matching up.

I am not counting on it that is why I still have to find the wiring diagram for the emgs :)
