Ok I have a mackie 12 channel board, a Boss BR864, a Pc with acid pro 4, tons of instruments and cables, drums, and a empty house to put it in. What is the proper way to assemble all this so that I have a fully working studio? I would like to use multiple headphones but i am not sure how to do this.

Any information would be useful.
I am just starting out in home recording and totally confused with all the stuff I have.

I appretiate your thoughts

Thanks

start small and work your way up.
Using the PC for recording ?
May need a new soundcard (interface)
or, use the mixer to tie in all instruments and route outputs to PC.
Many options depending on what way you wanna go.

- instruments to the mixer
- mixer to the Boss
- Boss to the soundcard(PC)
- soundcard to headphone amp
- headphone amp to your ears

Simple enough!

I realize that you didn't mention monitors or any outboard gear so keeping it simple... this is how you would do it.

You will need a headphone distribution amp. I've had good luck with Rolls RA62HA- good for up to 6 sets, but there are lots of others on the market.-Richie

Monitors

I hope you have some monitors planned and don't intend to mix with headphones. That would be difficult at best...
