The C1000 (old version) was my first all around condenser. However, I'd take an Oktava MC012 from The Sound Room only over a C1000 any day. I wish they were around when I first got into recording.

If you are looking for a single condensor mic that will sound good on vocals and drums, then you should look at a rode NT2 or NT1, i ve heard the NT2 and it sounds really good; definatly value for money.
