Bought some more, damn I'm crazy...

I dont know why I'm doing this, and I am absolutely broke now, but I just bought a pair of Neumann/Gefell M940's (the super-cardioid version of the M930).
The price was, however, the best price I have ever seen on ANY decent mic. Just plain phenomenal price.
I dont have a choice but to keep these at the price, I think I'll just default them into being my overheads.

I still have them, and when these Gefells arrive (thats IF they arrive, the price was insane, and I mean insanely crazy low)
Upon hearing something acceptable and smoother from the Geffels than the 603's, I will cut them loose for $85 shipped. If you want em, you got em. If they go out of the country, it'll cost more I guess. Maybe. Dunno.
I mailed something to Moskus in Norway for $3.20, so, who knows.

Quite seriously, my "studio" spending money comes from the loose change I can accumulate from my pockets, so whenever I "blow the budget" on something, it takes a while before my reserves build back up................... . That is unless I can find something to sell off around here.

I am just thinking I may put the Neve designed pre's I was going to make back down the priority list in favour of the 603s.

I recently had Hard2Hear ship a mic to me via Global Express Mail (USPS), it cost $36 US and was here in 5 days...........brilliant service. So what I have to consider, is that as this would cost me approx., $200 Aust., in total, which do I NEED the most.........mics or pre's. .

Go, man, get those 603's
I paid $330 NZ for a pair shipped with cables, and it's one of the best investments I ever made - I LOVE my 603's and what they've done for my acoustic and drum recording
