I really feel dumb asking this to all you pros, but I'm OLD!! I bought an audio book online, and need to know what type of blank CDs to buy to burn it to. I tried what I had (CD-R Pro 80 min 700 MB) but it won't work. Can someone tell me what to buy?? The book is about 8 hours long.

You cannot put 8 hours of audio on a single audio CD. You'll have to break it up and put no more than 80 min on each disk.

With that kind of length you will no doubt need to segment it onto several discs of audio. It probably won't burn for you because the audio files exceed the amount of time on the CDs. If the audio is already in multiple tracks, try using those, otherwise you will have to create your own tracks manually and save them.

tried that

Well, dumb as I am, I knew that it must be broken up. Problem is with my CD, apparently. The message that popped up when I tried the first 60+ minutes on the first CD was something like "this CD is blemished, or unusable" and I tried 3 brand new ones.

My problem is I don't know the difference in CD's, and don't know what to buy.

Thanks for trying to help! Please don't give up on me.

If you have a fresh batch of CDs, and the burner is telling you they are all coasters (that is, unusable), often that means it's time for a new CD burner.

i didnt read the responses so if i'm late, etch it in stone..... but i think its the CD-RW, i think thats the name of em, though it may be audio, it might be encoded a certain way that a regular CD wouldn't decipher....... it can also be the settings you use in whatever media player you burn with that isn't matching up with the specific audio book qualities.......

beyond that, i'd probably say, be selective in your porn file sharing circle :D

Make sure your burning software is set to "create audio cd" or "create music cd" if it's set to "data cd" it will read something like "no disk in burner" or something similar. Use CD-R disks for audio and music, CD-RW for data and file storage.

Thanks

I bought music cds, and my book was burned on 6 of them.

Thanks, guys, especially Dani!!
