Simple question, which do you think is the best and why? And I know some of you will say different delays are good for different situations, so for those people how about which one do you use the most?

My favorite plugin is actually FREE. :D
The db-T tempo delay plugin. Probably gets the most use of all my delays.

http://www.db-audioware.com/dB-T-tempo-delay-more.htm

It has a great sound, and easy to control. Along w/ hp/lp filters and independant controls for each chanel.

I have also used Native Iinstruments Ohmboys, very nice delay with a ton of features, delays, filters, lfo, and distortion! But it is quite complicated to use with it's cartoony interface.

BPM-Tempo delay is the way to go!

I just stole the one out of an old version of fruity loops.
(copy-und-paste)
And use it as a plug for acid/soundforge.
Its BPM based. It has no interface...just basic sliders.
Not too many features...just the basics.

Im going to check ou db-T though...sounds interesting.

Hands down, the Lexicon PCM-42 by PSPaudioware!!! It is almost as good as the hardware box. Best plugin' delay I have ever heard.

I second the Lexicon emulation by PSPaudioware. I use it on almost every song.

It just has "character" that you don't find in other delays! Amazing sound. You can hear it as subtle or as over the top as you want.

Really? I've tried a couple of the Lexicon emulated delays and they seemed limited to me, although that could be their somewhat confusing interface. I remember using the real things in school and they were ok but I was never blown away.

Well, you were "in school", which means you have much to learn! ;)

Actually, all the PSP delays are excellent!

I also like the Kjaerhus Classic Delay (free!)

And one of the best delays is Twisted Delay I created for Reaktor :p

Hmmmmm. the PSP emulations have the same interface as the real deal. I guess that could be confusing?

I think the interface is confusing in general. I only got to use it for like 2 or 3 days before and I hadn't gotten to use it in a while before I tried the plugin.

I don't know who designed it, but it's one called CatDelay. It's a nice little stereo delay, with independant pan controls for each channel, reverse, tempo syncing, all that good stuff. It's free on KVR. ;)

The lexicon delay certainly can be a little confusing. It offers a lot more options than most typical delay units do, but then it also does stuff that many just don't do. It is an incredible delay if you learn to use it. When I just need a basic tap delay though I just use the Waves Supertap.

yeah i really like the Classic Delay and use it quite often. you can get a bunch of different sounds out of it, plus it's free.
