I would like to know how do use you record bass...

DI? Bass Amp? Both?

I used to record it with a Bass Amp (Peavey 60W), but i'm willing to sell it because recently I used my PODxt (for guitar) and got better results. Propably I dont have the right mic. But I believe that with DI method I'll get more clear bass.

Do you know any good DI, that its not so expensive?

Thanx anyway

I typically use both (amp & DI). If you don't want a processed DI signal, the Countryman DT85 (I think that's the right model no., similar to that anyway) works well and can be picked up on Ebay four around $100. If you want the ability to have a processed signal as well, the Sansamp RBI box works well for a bit more $.

Ditto on the amp and DI mix - usually with some leveling compression on the DI. For DI I have been using the BSS AR-133 with good results. Built like a tank, they work great in studio and on stage.

Now do you want that bass to have a creamy milky feel or do you want an airy breathy air conditioner? -Walters

I agree with amp + DI. SansAmp Bass Driver and Bass POD are both excellent little boxes. A great bass is about 60% (at least) of the equation as well.

Try double-bussing the bass. Works every time.
