Bass guitar with 2 strings...

I'm looking for a bass guitar and found one on ebay. However, the bass shows that it is strung with only the low E and A strings. The seller reponded that he doesn't know how long it's been that way.
He responded that the neck was straight but, going by the auction, it doesn't seem like he knows much about guitars.
Are 2 strings going to damage the action of a bass in a significant way?

If it sat that way for a long time with tension on the 2 strings there is a chance the neck could be slightly twisted..
