I know, I know..

it depends on the voice.. right?..

right now i have $200 to spend on a mic,

and i'm wondering if i should buy 2 B1s or a C1.

if i buy 2B1s, the rest 60$ would probably go to another cable, pop filter, a double mic holder......

well, since i sold my sm58, i don't have any new recordings,

so i'll just post a short audio clip from a long time ago,

please just listen to the voice.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks guys and have a nice day.

** it's bigger than the valid file size..

it's named mic.

....

plz guys.. i really need help..

do you mean you'd rather have a b3 than a c1?

but uh.. i will mostly record only my vocals.. so..

come on... come on..

what's up man...nice voice by the way. WAY too much reverb...but that doesn't answer your questions...

I've never tried the C1, but I'm a big fan of the B1. It's very clear and very natural (not much coloring like the SM58...I've got two of those) Feel free to check out a few songs I did all the guitars and vocals on...

CHECKOUT: Had a dream, So Cold or Talkin' Smack Revisited...they were all done with B1 (bass plugged in directly and the drums are drum machine).

I hope this helps...

yeah

i've heard so cold before.

nice song, by the way..

from that B1 sounds really nice, one thing that concerned me is that our voices are very different.

thanks for the help.

PS have any recording with different vocals?

oh yeah,

i've heard had a dream also..

nice song, nice song~

Yes, I'd rather have a B3 than a C1. If I was going to buy a C series it would be the C3. But they are all nice mics. Why not just buy the B1 and try it. If you don't like the B1, sell it, then buy the C1 and try it. Or, save another $80 and buy both.

INFINITEMH: Hey thanks...I think those are the only 3 songs I've got laying around that are done on mp3. Maybe I could do a test thing or something tonight and give you the link tomorrow...trying to simulate what you did...don't know if i can sing like that though...

Anyhoo, I'd probably have boughten the C1 If I had the cash at the time, but I've got to tell you I've been pretty damn happy with the B1. I'm still curious how the other one sounds. Just out of curiosity, what mic did you use to do the recording you put up (the shure?)?

I think tdukex is right though. If you're strapped, get the B1 (this maybe obvious, but make sure you've got phantom power with these), or try em out if there's a music store near you that sells 'em. But for $80 you sure as hell can't go wrong.

yeah it was done with the shure sm58..

and for the reverb, i think i chose light concert hall from my cool edit pro 2.

thanks for the help- i REALLY appriciate it.

perhaps more than you would think.

you seem to be a very nice guy robert~!

INFINITEMH: Hey, no problem...why did you want a double mic stand? are you doing stereo micing?

i was gonna buy 2 b1s, but uh...

don' know anymore;;

i think i might end up buying the b1, after all

<snip>

Me too, and if I was going to buy another SP B series mic it would be the B3. I own one B1, two B3's, one C1, and two C3's and I think they're all good mic's... but, IMO the B3 is the "best bang for the buck".
