Does anybody use the AT3525 as overheads? What do you think of them? I own a pair of these and have been using them for this. But I think a pair of small condensers would sound better. Comments?

This mic excels on percussion but it has a tight cardioid pattern which makes its off axis response definitely not generous. Not a great choice for OHs. Youre better off with a pair of small diaphragms as they have a wider sound field and a more gradual off axis response. Use the AT3525 for close micing percussion...on a floor tom, ride, even snare.
Its got a natural depth to it and it responds well to EQ as do most AT mics bec its not scooped or hyped in any one direction.

MXL-603's, Octava MC-012's, AKG C-451's, AT-4033's, Neumann KM-184's, Earthworks SR-71's, etc, etc. All good overhead mics.
