The AT mic is a pretty "warm" mic, so it probably is not the best choice for a classical guitar. I`d go with the Studio Project mic, it`s pretty bright and will do what you need it to do...

Ok! but i will do more vocal with this mic so wath could be the best?? Behringer is crap? Do u own one of these?

Studio Projects B1 -- Fairly neutral.

Audio Technica -- A little bright

Behringer -- a little too bright.

I've heard a lot of good things tracked with the Audio Technica. Particularly vocals . . . and it seems to have gotten a lot of good reviews. Good mic for the price.

I'd ad a few more to your list:

* Marshall mxl 2003 or mxl V93. A little bright but very smooth.

* CAD M37 -- Probably the best value I've seen in a Large-diaphragm condenser. Worth hundreds more than what it sells for. A steal.

3035, B1 or B1

I have no experience with the SP mic. I auditioned the Behringer and found it too bright, almost brittle sounding. I do have the AT 3035. I am pleased with it's sound on steel string acoustic guitar, and vocals. Also, of the 3 mics you mentioned, it is the only one with bass roll-off and a 10db pad switch, which would give it more flexibility.

just to mention to u omtayslick that the behringer B-1 have a -10db and a 6db@80Hz low cut filter but the joke (without the only 6db pad.... ) there is that u have only one switch for the pad and the low cut so u have to choose between the pad and the rolloff...... pfff they really sux...... see the joke there!!!

http://www.behringer-download.de/B-1/B-1_A_Specs.pdf

and if u check the frequency response of the berhinger b-1 u will see a peak in 12khz range and for me that sux a lot......

So i think my choice will be the audio technica for is 12db@80Hz low cut and is 10db pad that u can use together!!! (and for the discounted price that i have at my sound reinforcement company where i work!!! :-) they are audio technica, behringer, shure......(and other more) dealer!!! but they are not SProject dealer)

I work as a sound engineer and i have heard about studio project here in the forum and i never heard about it before... don't seem to be a big serious company i have not found a graph of the frequency response of the SP b-1 in there website... And i haven't seen a lot of technical data like the polar pattern and other very important data like that....

AT

I'm using AT 3035...some vocals when I was "into them" came out very warm and "present"....recorded a few classical guitar pieces with it, got very good results.....I would recommend it

Cheers

i will go with the AT 3035 i think... it seem to be a good microphone it is really a little bright like chessrock said???

Depends on what you compare it to, I guess. I think it is warm sounding when you're right up on top of it. It may be bright to some, but it is not harsh sounding. The Behringer is a little harsh. Bright I can deal with, harsh I can't.

How about the 4033?? it is better than the 3035??

Most of the people who have used both will say the 4033 is noticeably better. The 3035 is quite a little wonder for $200, but the 4033 compares well with $600 mics and above.

It depends on the playback equipment? Do a recording with the B1 and play it back on typical monitor speakers or at high level with headphones and yes it can sound harsh, But when I audition it thru my large Dynaudio's or ATC's it sounds just fine Bright yes - Harsh not to my ears.

But there again I do not like the SM58 so "horses for courses"

I'm sure of all the ones mentioned the 4033 is the most versitile of the group by a pretty wide margin

I agree that the 4033 is the most versitile out of the mics mentioned (I have a pair of them). I also have a 3035 that I kind of inherited and must say I don't like this mic at all.

To add to Track's comment........... I think what we are both trying to tell you is that there is a considerable difference in quality between something like a 4033 and a 3035.
As it looks like you're looking for your "main mic", I'd advise you to spend the extra $$.

yep ur right it will be my main mic... And i'm sure that the 3035 is more cheaper then the 4033... I have work with the 4033 but i have never use it as a vocal mic!!! Just overhead and a couple of time for a cello (u know sound reinforcement!) and that's do the job really good! I've seen the frequency response of the mic

http://www.audiotechnica.com/prodpro/profiles/AT4033_SE.html

and it seem kinda flat with a little 6khz boost.... i think that it will do the job! I've seen on there website the 4040 and the 4047... What is the difference between the 4033 and these two guys here??? I wanna buy a Behringer T1953 Preamp with that mic so do u think that it will do the job, have some advice? I have little budget ( have spend a lot of money (bought a VS2480!!!))

AT 3035 vs 4033

I stated that I like the 3035. But although I don't own a 4033, I am playing with a borrowed one. And it is definitetly superior to the 3035. But the 3035 is a pretty good mic. BTW they do very nicely together on acoustic guitar.

AT series mics are usually generally bright from experience and comments i hear. My guess is it would be one of the betters for acoustic guitar, but not a strong point on voice. Although it does WORK on voice but its nothing special on it, but i have done some decent vocal recordings with the AT4033. Why not consider the SP C1, i have tried it on guitar and although not its not hyped in some places that make the acoustic guitar shine, its really smooth and crisp, and better yet, will probably sound better on your vocals.

The SP B1, i think is the one with the tube in it isnt it? Im sure it is a nice warm sound that could sound good with your acoustic depending on what kind of sound you want, but being tube, its risky on its versatility. The coloration may or may not sound good on your voice.

Behringer - Boy if you have too :). Behringer makes decent home studio type equipment, but like mentioned below, a little too bright. Also, pay the extra money for durability even if you dont think youll need it, because you probably will.

A little story to go around with durability, and maybe a lesson for all of you youngen ;). Last saturday i did live sound reinforcement for a park music festival. I had the whole setup there and things were going great. Turns out there were a couple of water bottles laying around by the mixer and stuff that were full of water (was a hot day). However, some dumb idiot (was probably me) didnt screw the cap on one of the bottles tightly. Next thing i know it, a half a bottle of water was spilt all over the mixer. The lights started flashing and and going hay wire but i turned it off in about 2 seconds. The team emmediately started cleaning the water off, unscrewed the back of the mixer to dry off parts inside. After about 10 minutes we tried her on again hoping for the best. Not a problem, the mixer started right up without a problem. We continued to make sure the water was cleared out of it but keeping the back plate open and the raising it up a bit to air out the water.

Two lessons:

Dont leave food or drink around expensive equipment.

and...thank the heavens the mixer was a mackie.

Dunno if a behringer or other type of board would have held up the same, but i do know that that was a lot of water, and the mackie held up strong and kept the show goin. Knowing this, i will keep my trust in mackie and spend the extra money for it everytime.
