I know it is possible to set my interface as an input and my computer soundcard as an output, but whenever I try, I get no sound from the computer. The transport bar thing (in cubase 5.1) shows that both the in and out have audio, but I can't hear it. I figure the logical thing to do is go to the device settings and check to see if it is even active. The usb audio device is active but the computer soundcard is inactive. I can accomplish this by using only the computer soundcard and setting the input as the usb, but since I can't direct monitor the latency is aweful. Help?!

Why arent you using your interface output? Is it just an AD convertor? Forget the computer sound card.

asio = ONE device driver at one time.

Plus that internal card has 40cents worth of parts.
You DO NOT want to use it at all...

Whenever I have my interface selected as the output and I record/playback, I'll get a random static. It's not an overload, my pc usage could be at 2% and it'll still do it. It's just broken, so until I get a new one I'd like to be able to record...

I found the solution though, I had to go to VST connections and reset the outputs from there.

Thanks for the replies.
