thinking of getting one; don't have a tube mic, my only LD is the C1, wondering if i'm going to get some different "flavors" with this one.

i love my 4033, so i trust AT, but am looking for some opinions...

thanks!

I just used a 4060 on clarinet for an Argentinian folk music session. The results were gorgeous.

I used it on a session about a month ago. I also had a Brauner VM-1, Soundleux U95s and a B.L.U.E Bootle at my disposal.

On that singer, the 4060 was the best.......

I worked at a studio last year that used them on vocals exclusivly. I alwas thought it sounded good, of course it was going through an avalon pre and a distressor, so that probably had alot to do with it.
I really trust AT mics though ... I just bought a 4050...

One guy who I trust who tested the at4060 and the new At4040 prefered the At4040 on his voice and AT4040 the AT4040 can be had for less than $300!!

Can anyone else compare the two? I have the AT4060 but have not yet put it through it's paces

I don't have a 4040, but I do have a 4033, and I've been told the 4040 is supposed to sound like a 4033.

For my personal tastes, I like my 4060 better on most voices, because it doesn't have a hyped upper midrange like my 4033 does. But I suppose there might be some voices that benefit from that sound, or those who just have a personal preference for it.
