I am currently using a Boss BR900CD and I do like the results so far. I am new to recording. My question is I would like to expand track capability. The Boss only has 8 tracks and if u record in stereo that limits you to 4 tracks. Can I import a WAV file to a computer based program, manipulate it, then send it back to the hard recorder for mixdown and mastering? Anyone else out there using Boss 900 tips?:o

Record in stereo???...you are wasting tracks...a stereo image is something you get in mixdown...if there is 2 outputs on something just use the mono out.

I use a tascam 2488neo and it makes a great platform to do your recording with...computers crash alot...I think in situations where you are out doing live recordings and you have to use 8-12 inputs you cant beat them with anything out there.

I use the AKAI DPS12i and I'm loving it. It has no stereo inputs, I'm glad to say. I think they're a waste of time and a con. For a short while I had the Zoom MRS1266 and though advertised as a 12 track, it wasn't really because there were 2 stereo inputs. It was actually a 10 track.
